Biochem/physiol Actions
As implied by their name, BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) promote and regulate bone development, growth, remodeling and repair, in both prenatal development and postnatal growth of eye, heart, kidney, skin, and other tissues. BMP-12 regulates chondrogenesis, bone morphogenesis, and neuron differentiation. It also has a role in seminal vesicle development.

General description
BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. BMP-12 is highly conserved across species. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 2. Anti-GDF7 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total GDF7 protein.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GDF7.Immunogen Range: 191-240
Physical form
Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
